Eligibility
We consider proposals led by investigators at academic, clinical, or mission-driven research institutions. The work must address a defined medical problem and generate a decision-relevant result within 18 months.
There are a lot of good projects out there and we can't fund all of them, so we've chosen where to focus. We look for research where AI and other enabling technologies are load-bearing — where removing them would change what the project can do, not just how the project is described. That might be in the science, the data, or how the work reaches patients.
We are deliberately open across areas of medicine — cancer, regenerative medicine, the gut-immune axis, gene and cell therapy, neurodegeneration, pharmacology, and plenty that's not listed here. The area is yours to choose. What matters more is how directly a result connects to something that could reach patients.
The strongest proposals are narrow, rigorous, and ready to move. We generally don't fund general lab support, conference travel, or salary backfill.
Grants
Pilot — starting at $10,000
For narrower work: a feasibility study, a small animal experiment, or the preliminary data needed to make the case for a larger grant, from us or elsewhere.
Investigator — starting at $100,000
For work that has cleared proof of concept and is moving toward later-stage studies, early clinical evidence, or a next round of funding.
Catalyst — by invitation
Occasionally two or more of our investigators find something worth pursuing together. Each receives a grant of equal size.
Ask for what the work costs, and tell us what it unlocks.
Request access
To request the application link, send a short note naming the principal investigator, institution, clinical problem, and intended technical approach.
The application itself should take about 30 minutes. We ask what you're trying to find out, what it will cost, what the result would make possible, and who's doing the work. If something needs more detail, we'll follow up directly rather than make you anticipate it.
